Arkansas Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool (CHIP) - The Arkansas General Assembly created the Arkansas Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool (CHIP) in 1995 to provide insurance coverage for Arkansas residents with high-risk conditions who could not obtain coverage through the individual health insurance market. CHIP began selling coverage on July 28, 1996.
ARKids First – Provides two coverage options for more than 70,000 Arkansas children who otherwise might have gone without. ARKids A offers low-income families a comprehensive package of benefits. ARKids B provides coverage for families with higher incomes.
Senior Health Insurance Information Program SHIIP - A health insurance information program that provides free one-on-one counseling, education, and information to individuals with Medicare of all ages.
Medicaid -Medicaid is a state/federal program that pays for medical and long-term care services for low-income pregnant women, children, certain people on Medicare, disabled individuals and nursing home residents. These individuals must meet certain income and other requirements.
