The Associated Press reported that the US Senate approved a $1.1 Trillion spending bill by a vote fo 60 to 34. The bill provides monies to both Medicare and Medicaid along with other government programs.
The new proposed health reform bill has been pushed by our leaders in congress as being able to lower the cost of health insurance. It is often said that this bill will make health care affordable by everyone and no one would be without health insurance. Is this bill really going to decrease our costs? How much will premiums be?

The Baucas Bill is amazingly looking like a tax bill and not a health reform bill. A recent article from the Wall Street Journal reports the health reform bill, a bill that is supposed to reduce financial burden for the middle class, will actually increase the financial burden on the middle class.
The Wall Street Journal created a chart that compares key points of the various health reform proposals that have been created. This chart included the latest health reform proposal by Senator Baucas.
It is recommended that you read the proposals (if you can do it without falling asleep) to make a good educated opinion of these proposed bills. This chart is a good quick reference.
The problem is that it also includes multiple fines for those who don’t get health insurance. In fact, fines for not getting insurance start at $750 a year for individuals and $1,500 for families. Families of four with a household income of approximately $66,000 would pay the maximum fines if they fail to get health insurance. These fines could be up to $3800.
