She had received an ultra sound during her 20 week check-up that her insurance company refused to pay. Therefore, she was left dealing with a $612 medical bill. As a reporter, she took the time to investigate and understand why her insurance did not pay the bill. In the end, her doctor and her insurance company disagreed on the tpe of ultrasound that was needed for a 20 week pregnancy exam.

Top Ranked Health Plan in Northwest

In April of 2009, JD Power & Associates released the rankings of the top health plans in the country. They separated the United States into 17 different regions. The Northwest (Idaho, Oregon and Washington) was one of the 17 regions. According to the JD Power surveys, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan is among the best health plans in the country.
