I’ve never been a big fan of online directories! Why? I honestly believe that a lot of online directories are started by people who see easy targets amongst small businesses that are desperate to get more traffic to their websites. It is painful to see small businesses shell out good money to be part of a site that may be just a way for someone else to get a little more money. It is even more painful to know that this added expense may need to be covered by the very patient that some online directories state they are helping.

President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress, to explain the proposed health reform. This speach took place on September 9, 2009.

She had received an ultra sound during her 20 week check-up that her insurance company refused to pay. Therefore, she was left dealing with a $612 medical bill. As a reporter, she took the time to investigate and understand why her insurance did not pay the bill. In the end, her doctor and her insurance company disagreed on the tpe of ultrasound that was needed for a 20 week pregnancy exam.

There is an online petition against the proposed health reform that has been signed by over 1 million people have signed. The petition is against a government run program, but supports reform that would include the choice to choose a provider or insurance plan, ease of access, fairness of tax breaks, and more control for individuals over their health care.

There is an online petition that supports Health Reform that includes a Public Option. The site features Governer and Doctor Howard Dean. The petition specifically supports reform that allows individuals to choose from a public option like Medicare or a private insurance option. Currently the site has almost 4oo,ooo signatures of support.

In April of 2009, JD Power & Associates released the rankings of the top health plans in the country. They separated the United States into 17 different regions. The Northwest (Idaho, Oregon and Washington) was one of the 17 regions. According to the JD Power surveys, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan is among the best health plans in the country.
